This morning we headed up to Smithville to drop a few packages off at the post office. Smithville is a nice little lake town about 15 minutes north of where we live and has a population of approximately 9,000. While we were there we decided to drive through town and then head over to the golf courses and the lake.
Smithville Lake has 7,190 acres of surface area and 175 miles of shore line and is great for boating, swimming, and fishing.
Paradise Pointe golf complex has two 18 hole courses (The Posse and The Outlaw), a 4 hole academy course, driving range, putting green, and a clubhouse. The course is currently covered in snow and is unplayable. Both courses are fun to play and offer scenic views of the lake. My good friend Dave probably disagrees since he sometimes struggles to break 100. The courses both offer challenging layouts and numerous water hazards along with affordable rates.
Of course the town, the lake and the golf course are more enjoyable in the spring and summer months but it was a fun little excursion on a Saturday morning.
