We stopped into FO’CHEEZY on our way to the beach this weekend and here is our review. The place is fairly new and they also operate a food truck and are currently opening a second location in downtown St. Pete. The location we visited is in St Pete Beach on Gulf Blvd.
Right away you notice the funky vibe and bright paint scheme on the outside of the building. The outside will get your attention at least a block away.
Once you enter the restaurant you are immediately transported into an urban “street” feel of bright and colorful artwork and clear-off décor. The music is bumping and exactly what you would expect for the atmosphere.
The place was super clean and the staff was busy ensuring every customer was greeted as they came in, and thanked as they left.
We split the WAR PIG which was their version of a Cuban and a side of Gouda Mac & Cheese accompanied by cold beers (of course).
Aged Swiss, Mojo Roasted Pork Shoulder, Honey Ham, Smoked Bacon, Dill Pickles, Green Chili Mayo, Dijonaise, Pickled Red Onion, Cheeses, and melted on sourdough.
The sandwich was f**king amazing and better than any Cubano sandwich we’ve ever had. The Mac was creamy and a more than enough to split.
Chef Robert Hesse (owner) was a two-season fan favorite on the hit TV show Hell’s Kitchen with Gordon Ramsay and has had multiple appearances on the Food Network. He has been a private chef to many celebs and has worked with the famed playboy mansion.
Honestly, older folks would probably be turned off by the volume and choice of music that plays in the background. The Menu is large and there are things for even the pickiest eater.
