Two Kansas City Teams Make the Postseason in the Same Year!?

Kansas City Royals are World Champions and the Kansas City Chiefs are in the playoffs!

This year marks the first time that the Chiefs and the Royals make it to the postseason in the same year (calendar season).

The Chiefs started the season 1-5 and finished strong by winning the last 10 games. Their record of 11-5 was good enough to secure a wild card spot in the playoffs. Game time is scheduled for Saturday January 9th, 2016 at 3:35 p.m. CST.

The Royals won their first World Series in 30 years this season and the city is still partying. The last time the Chiefs won a playoff game was over two decades ago on January 16, 1994 against the Houston Oilers with a score of 28-20. I think Houston’s quarterback Warren Moon is still sore and aching from that game; he was sacked 9 times and was constantly running for his life with Derrick Thomas chasing after him.

To my friend (Roger) in San Pedro, Belize that supports the Houston Texans –  “GO CHIEFS!”

  1. But Moon isn’t our quarterback any more. I’m really not sure who is but we have one or two. This is going to be sweet revenge for that 1994 loss and I can’t wait. Two decades is a long time to hold a grudge. Roger
